EDIT 6100/ Dick & Carey Model (ISD)

Summary and brief bibliography

Description of the Dick & Carey Model

Robin defined the Dick and Carey model as having its roots in the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) model which was initially used for training purposes during World War II. Although several versions of this training model exist, Dick and Carey have gained prominence in the field.   This theory consists of (1) goal identification, (2) instructional analysis, (3) learner and context analysis, (4) definition of objectives, (5) assessment instrument, (6) instructional strategy and materials development, (7) formative evaluation, and (8) summative evaluation of instruction.
