    • American Academy of Women Artists: links to artists, exhibits and membership information.
    • Australian Women's Art Registrar: features the work of 2,000 Australian women artists from mid 19th century the present. This site includes art links, a featured artist of the month, membership information,and an online preview of the newsletter.
    • Madhubani painting: online exhibit of folkart features essays and images.
    • National Museum of Women in the Arts: an extensive virtual gallery and archive of online images and biographical information of international artists from Medieval times to the present.
    • The Web Museum: a virtual art gallery containing images and information about European artists, movements, and style from the Gothic period (1280) through contemporary art. It contains a glossary of art movements, an artist index, and a theme index. Limited for women artists.
    • Women Artist Archive: special collection in the Ruben Salazar Library. This website contains an artist listing, weblinks to women artists in the collection, and a section on discrimination of women artists.
    • Women artists in Canada: French/English, Searchable resource of artists. Includes images, essays, bibliographies, and links to relevant dissertations.
    • WomEnhouse: founded by Judy Chicago, Schapiro, and others.WomEnhouse is a virtual gallery of contemporary American women artists,architects and writers that "explore the politics of domesticity."
    • The World's Women On-Line! Electronic Art Networking: developed in conjunction with the United Nations' Fourth World Conference On Women, is a virtual international art exhibit of contemporary women artists. Artists are listed alphabetically ; images and biographical information are included. It includes a link to the conference.

  •  Guerrilla Girls: an organization of anonymous women artists who have taken major U.S. art museums to task on the issue of discrimination in the arts.

  • San Francisco Women Artists Gallery: provides information about membership, links to art related sites, and sponsors Ask Athene, an interactive question/answer column (seems to be undergoing a site redesign 12/2004).
  • W.A.R.M. (Women's Art Recognition Movement): new collective to promote women artists includes photo gallery of art.
  • Women's Art International Forum(WAIF): artwork images by contemporary artists with links to individual artist web pages. Join a "web ring"of women artists and writers.
  • Women In the Visual Arts: a nonprofit organization promoting women artists through outreach programs and an archived newsletter.
  • Women's Studio Workshop: a nonprofit artists' studio providing information about grants, fellowships, internships, and exhibition opportunities for artists involved in printmaking, papermaking and photography.
